I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
On the 14th of June, I’ll be running the Rottnest Half Marathon and I’d love to use the opportunity for a good cause!
Being in my early 30s and having experienced different challenges that life has thrown my way, I feel now is such an important time to help raise awareness — and some helpful funds — for men’s mental health.
Not only am I doing this to give back, but also to spread the word that there is help out there, and not to be afraid to use it — it can make a real difference.
Living in rural Australia, I have experienced and seen how simple daily life can become a challenge, especially without easy access to helpful resources.
I’ve been lucky enough to have had many years of therapy in the past, which has benefited me beyond words. I’m also aware that this simply isn’t accessible or feasible for many people.
MensLine Australia provides free, 24/7 professional counselling by phone and online chat, but demand exceeds funding, and too many calls still go unanswered.
It’s so important that more men can access life-changing support when they need it most. MensLine Australia provides counselling for mental health challenges, relationship problems, anger management, substance abuse, suicide prevention, and emotional wellbeing.
