Jasons walk for men's mental health

I've created this page because I want to make a difference.

My name is Jason, I'm 28 years old, a husband and father of 3. 

In March 2026 I am wanting to raise money towards men's mental health by walking from home to Moonta Bay which is 147km.

I have had my own struggles with mental health, I was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes at 22 years old and didn't know how to reach out for help to deal with such a life changing Autoimmune Disease. 

When I finally reached out for help I was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety. I was then able to receive the help I needed for my mental health to improve my own happiness which also impacted my family and social life. 

Mental health for men means something to me because I have been through it and am still learning how to manage it.

Many of the men in my life are also affected by this. My friends, family and work colleagues are also going through their own struggles because of their own mental health but it has also opened the door to be able to openly talk about our struggles together.

Mens mental health affects 1 in 5 people aged 15 to 45.

Every day in Australia, 9 people die by suicide, 7 of them are men.
