THE APPRENTICE MULLET: IT’S NEVER TOO LATE
At 30 years old, I’m beginning an electrical apprenticeship and starting a completely new chapter in my life.
For the entire length of my apprenticeship, I’ll be growing my mullet to raise money and awareness for men’s mental health. The mullet will grow as I learn my trade, face the challenges and slowly work towards becoming a qualified sparky.
This fundraiser is about more than growing my hair or completing an apprenticeship. It’s about showing that it’s never too late to change your life, choose a different path and keep fighting through the bad days and struggles that life can throw at you.
A lot of men struggle quietly. We convince ourselves that we have to handle everything alone, or that changing direction means we’ve failed. I want this journey to show that asking for help isn’t weakness, starting again isn’t failure and your age doesn’t decide whether you’re allowed to build a better life.
I’ll share updates throughout my apprenticeship—the good days, the difficult days, what I’m learning and, of course, the progress of the mullet.
When I finally complete my apprenticeship, it’ll represent more than becoming a qualified electrician. It’ll be the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one—a new career, a new version of myself and proof that it was never too late.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small the amount, I’d genuinely appreciate it. If you can’t donate, sharing this page or checking in on one of your mates can still make a difference.
Let’s grow something meaningful.
